Acoustic panels are sound-absorbing boards that trap sound waves in their porous structure, converting sound energy into a tiny amount of heat. This reduces echo, reverberation, and background noise to improve speech clarity and listening comfort.
No. Acoustic panels absorb sound within a room (reduce echo), but they do NOT block sound transmission between rooms. For full soundproofing, acoustic panels should be combined with mass-loaded vinyl (MLV), seals, or double-wall construction.
Our standard panels are made from high-density PET (polyester fiber) derived from recycled plastic bottles. PET is eco-friendly, formaldehyde-free, odorless, and offers excellent NRC ratings. We also supply wooden slat panels with PET backing and fabric-wrapped fiberglass options on request.
NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a panel absorbs (0 = total reflection, 1 = total absorption). Our 9mm–25mm PET panels typically have an NRC of 0.70–0.90 depending on thickness and installation (an air gap behind the panel increases absorption).
